"Newsies" at the Muny

I saw "Newsies" at the Muny on August 8th, 2017. I really enjoyed this production- "Newsies" has always been one of my favorite shows, so I was super jazzed that the  Muny chose to do it this season. I stage doored after the show and met pretty much the entire cast. There was a somewhat long line, so the staff person there told us that we were only allowed to get either a photo or an autograph from each cast member, but not both. I still got an autograph and photo from all of them though... They didn't really let the cast just stop and talk- if they were with one person for too long, they came over and told them that they needed to keep the line moving. It was still an awesome experience, though!

Hayley Podschun

I wrote to Hayley Podschun in "Hello Dolly!" on Broadway. She is an ensemble member, and she has also played Glinda in the national tour of "Wicked" and was an ensemble member in "Something Rotten!" on Broadway. I sent her a questionnaire, which she did a really great job of answering. I also sent her two photos which she personalized and signed. She also sent me an unsigned "Hello Dolly!" playbill and wrote me a super sweet note where she told me to "kick booty at WashU (my school) and every day". This was really a great response! I did include a SASE.

Katie Rose Clarke

Katie Rose Clarke is basically my most favorite person ever. She is so talented, along with being sweet and kind. I sent her a little gift and requested a playbill. She sent me a signed "Miss Saigon" playbill that was personalized to me. She was very fast to respond- it only took 9 days!

"Groundhog Day" Stage Manager

I wrote to the "Groundhog Day" stage manager and requested a playbill. I did include a SASE. They sent me a letter requesting a donation in order to receive a signed playbill, but they did send me an unsigned playbill. It took about a month and a half to receive this response.

"A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum" at the Muny

I saw "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum" at the Muny in July 2017, and I absolutely loved it! It was probably my favorite from the 99th season! First off, Jeffrey Schecter was absolutely incredible. The actor who was supposed to play Pseudolus had to pull out a couple of days before the show, and Schecky was called on Saturday night to ask if he could play the role. He flew out early Sunday morning and was playing the role on stage by that Wednesday night! When he was asked to do it, his answer was "I love the Muny. I'm there for you". He had his script in hand during the show, but I was so impressed- probably one of the best performances I've ever seen at the Muny! I also had an amazing experience at the stage door- I love Ali Ewoldt, and I made her a gift (Christine dress-up dolls). She was so sweet and excited, and she even took a photo with me on her phone and posted it on Instagram! Such an incredible experience!

"A Chorus Line" at the Muny

I saw "A Chorus Line" at the Muny during July 2017, and I really enjoyed it! It was my first time seeing this show, and I thought that the Muny really did an incredible production of it. I chose not to stage door for this show, but it was still an awesome experience!

"All Shook Up" at the Muny

I saw "All Shook Up" at the Muny during the 99th season in 2017. It wasn't my favorite show (not a big Elvis fan), but I was excited to see Caroline Bowman perform. After the show, I stage-doored and got autographs from pretty much the entire cast.
