"Book of Mormon" Stage Manager

I wrote to the "Book of Mormon" stage manager and requested a playbill. They responded pretty quickly, and they sent a full-cast signed playbill. I sent a SASE, but they did not request a donation.

  1. How do you write/request a playbill? I don't want to sound rude to ask them. Also- what's a SASE? I'd love to send actors mail, I just don't know much about it.

    1. I usually just send a note talking about how much I love their show and their performance/other work that they've done/ anything else you like about the actor or the show. At the end, I usually say something along the lines of "Thank you for reading my letter and for bringing me so much joy through your performance. If it's not too much trouble, could you please send me a playbill?". I think most of them are used to being asked to send playbills, so they aren't upset by your asking for one. A SASE is a self-addressed, stamped envelope. Basically, you send an envelope with your address and two stamps so that they can send you a response more easily. It's not required, but it usually leads to a faster response and makes it easier on the actors. Good luck! I absolutely love writing fan mail and it's the best when you get a response back!
