Emma Degerstedt

I wrote to Emma Degerstedt in  the off-Broadway production of  Smokey Joe's Cafe. She is the absolute sweetest and a fantastic actress. I first saw her in The Little Mermaid at the Muny, and I was really blown away by her performance. I was even more impressed by how kind she was at the stage door, and that she truly took the time to talk to everyone! There were lots of little girls at the stage door who just adored her, and she was so sweet and gave all of them big hugs! I sent her a little ornament that I made of her pink shimmy dress from Smokey Joe's Cafe, and she even posted the cutest video with them in her Instagram story and I could tell that she was so excited. She sent me back a full cast signed playbill and the sweetest note on Ariel stationary! This is definitely one of the nicest fan mail responses that I've ever gotten!

Katherine McPhee

I wrote to Katherine McPhee in Waitress, and I requested a playbill. I made a goal to have a playbill from every Broadway Jenna, so I was really hoping to be able to get one with Katherine. I also sent her a little ornament that I made of Jenna's waitress uniform. She sent me back a personalized signed playbill with a sweet little note on it. I actually received this right after her final performance, so I was super excited since I was worried that I might not get a response from her. I did include a SASE, and it took about two months to get a response.

Christy sent me a signed Anastasia playbill and included a sweet message on it. She wrote "Keep reaching for the moon and you'll land amongst the stars" along with cute little doodles of stars and hearts. She also wrote a sweet and encouraging note with some great advice on cute Paris themed paper. She is such a sweet person and gave a very thoughtful response. She was also pretty fast to respond.

"Meet Me in St. Louis" at the Muny

I got to see Meet Me in St. Louis at the Muny, which was their final show of the 100th season. It was truly a special experience and a magical Muny memory. It's a classic for St. Louisans and a great celebration of St. Louis (perfect choice for the Muny's 100th season!). It was incredibly touching and special to have the whole audience singing along to "Meet Me in St. Louis" after the curtain call, and something that I will never forget. I also had a great stage door experience- the whole cast was so sweet! I got autographs from Ken Page, Dan Deluca, Liana Hunt, and others. I also met Erin Dilly and got her autograph. I showed her that I had on the shoes she wore as the Baker's Wife in Into the Woods at the Muny a few years ago, and she was so excited to see them! She was so sweet and adorable, and so willing to talk to everyone.

"Gypsy" at the Muny

I got to see Gypsy at the Muny, and it was so amazing! Beth Leavel played Mamma Rose, and she was completely outstanding! Julia Knitel was also incredible, and I absolutely loved Hayley Podschun! I got to stagedoor after the show and to meet most of the cast, although they were in a little bit of a rush because they were having an opening night cast party. Hayley Podschun was the absolute sweetest, and she was so excited that I also brought a Hello,Dolly! playbill for her to sign!

DeLaney Westfall

I wrote to DeLaney Westfall, who plays Johanna in "Sweeney Todd" off-Broadway. I sent her a little green finch stuffed animal that I crocheted, and she posted a photo of it in her instagram story. She sent me back a signed playbill and a sweet note (on a cute card with pie on it!). It took about two weeks to receive a response.

"Singin' in the Rain" at the Muny

I got to see "Singin' in the Rain" at the Muny, and I was really so impressed by the entire production. It starred Corbin Bleu, and he was so incredible. He was so charming and had a great stage presence. I had never realized how strong of a dancer he is! He was so great and perfect for the role. The rest of the cast was also great. Megan Sikora was fabulous and hilarious, and she was also so sweet at the stage door. (She even told me that she loved my red hair and that she paid big money to have hair like it!). Corbin Bleu was also very nice at the stage door, and sooo many girls were hard core fangirling!

Ginna Claire Mason

I wrote to Ginna Claire Mason, who plays Glinda in the "Wicked" national tour. I sent her Glinda dress-up dolls that I made, and she posted a video with them in her instagram story. I actually ended up getting two responses from her! She initially sent me back a playbill signed by both her and Mary Kate Morrissey (Elphaba on tour), a personalized press shot signed by Mary Kate, and a personalized press shot signed by her. I sent her a questionnaire, but she couldn't remember who had sent it to her. She posted a picture of it in her instagram story and asked who's it was, so I responded and then she sent that to me (completely filled out), too! It took about three weeks to get a response.

Taylor Louderman

I wrote to Taylor Louderman, who plays Regina George in "Mean Girls". I have seen Taylor in other shows, and I have always really admired her (her voice is seriously amazing and she has the most magnificent belt!). I sent her a little mini Regina doll, and I requested a playbill. She sent me back a signed playbill. She also wrote me a sweet little "Thank you" note. I did include a SASE, and it took about six weeks to get a response.

"Jersey Boys" at the Muny

I was able to see "Jersey Boys" at the Muny and to stage door after the show. I had never seen the show before and pretty much knew nothing about it going in. I liked it much more than I thought that I would and the Muny really did an incredible job with their casting. Mark Ballas (from Dancing with the Stars and Broadway) was in the show, and he was so outstanding. I also got to meet Mark at the stage door, and he was the absolute sweetest to everyone there.

"Book of Mormon" tour

I saw the "Book of Mormon" tour at the end of May 2018 in St. Louis. The show was hilarious, and the tour cast is really so incredible! I stagedoored after the show and had most of the cast sign my playbill. This was probably my favorite show that I've seen in the past year!

"Phantom of the Opera" national tour

I saw the Phantom of the Opera national tour in St. Louis in May, 2018. It was my first time seeing the show, and I was very impressed by the whole production. I met a lot of the cast at the stage door, although some of them didn't come out because they were having an opening night cast party.

Jessie Mueller

This response was super out of the ordinary... I wrote to Jessie Mueller at the beginning of Carousel's run (while they were still in previews), and I included a SASE. About a month later, I received a response from her with a signed playbill (I posted it the other week). About a month after that (so two months after I sent mail to her), I received mail from the Imperial Theatre. I was really confused, because I hadn't sent mail to anyone there except for Jessie, and I had already received a response from her. So I ended up getting another response from Jessie with another signed playbill! She even used her own envelope (I almost always include a SASE when I send to people). I was very surprised by this second response- I guess she couldn't remember if she wrote back to me or not, so she just went ahead and wrote to me?

I wrote to Mamie Parris in Cats, and she sent me back a signed playbill, signed headshot, and she filled out the questionnaire I sent to her. "Hamilton" tour

I was lucky enough to see the Hamilton national tour in St. Louis in April, 2018. I had been waiting to see it for such a long time, so it was definitely a super special night for me (I actually still have a hard time believing that I've actually seen Hamilton!). The show was incredible and was totally worth the wait! I saw Edred Utomi as Hamilton and Raven Thomas was on as Eliza. A lot of the cast came out to the stage door, and they were all super sweet and kind. Edred was especially just so grateful to everyone that was there, and super sweet and goofy!
